Before drawing the map
I begin by listening. Is this your first trip to Japan? Are you drawn to big cities, art, food, landscapes or everyday life? Do you like early starts and busy days, or need time to pause? What you would rather avoid matters too. A tailor-made proposal grows from these answers, not from a compulsory list of sights.
Pace is part of the experience
A full day can be wonderful. Too many full days in a row can leave no space for surprises. When I choose stops and connections, I think about how much time is left to experience each place: an unplanned walk, an unhurried dinner, the pleasure of arriving in a new city without immediately having to move on.
Beyond the icons, towards places that fit you
Tokyo and Kyoto can be a starting point. Then we can consider other places according to the season, the time available and your interests. Through my travels and my work, I have encountered very different atmospheres, from Osaka to Takayama and Shirakawa-go. The goal is not to fill an itinerary with names; it is to choose where to spend meaningful time.
How we can begin
You do not need a ready-made plan. Tell me what intrigues you about Japan, how many days you have in mind and who you would like to travel with. From there we can build a practical proposal together.
